Professional
For over ten years, I've had the opportunity to figure out what it means to be a designer in a large corporation at P&G. From this, I've learned how to focus on human centered design, and that the consumer should always come first. I've also learned how difficult it can be to set a vision for a new discipline (especially changing a CPG company to think about products that don't go in a package), yet how rewarding it can be when it comes together.
Through my various roles and teams at P&G, I've focused mostly on the discovery, or the innovation side of our businesses. For this, I've applied disruptive and lean innovation principles to my work and helped coach others to do the same (both practitioners and business leaders). This has allowed for me to work on incredibly challenging and unique experiences, like opening the first Tide Laundromat and launching a new Beard Care category at P&G to name a few.
As I've led our Digital Design section in Fabric Care, I've coached and mentored 12 co-ops, and managed and grown my direct reports. All of this has made me realize the reward of investing in others and that great leaders understand how to do, as much as they know how to coach.
I've also lead Digital recruiting for all of Design, and pushed and led projects, whether that's internally through leading design sprints, being a design lead on typical P&G projects, or managing external agency partners.
Outside of Design
When I'm away from the office you can often find me hiking outside with my girlfriend and our two dogs (Scout and Tucker) or traveling to national parks and new cities. I also enjoy trying out new restaurants and breweries around Cincinnati and I'm always looking for new recommendations!
